Preparations underway in Guwahati for grand swearing-in ceremony expected to be attended by PM Modi and senior NDA leaders

Guwahati, 08 May (HS): Assam Pradesh BJP president Dilip Saikia on Friday announced that outgoing Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma will take oath as the Chief Minister of Assam on May 12.
Saikia made the announcement while speaking to reporters after a meeting with newly elected legislators in Dudhnai. He stated that the meeting focused on ideological discussions and coordination among alliance legislators who secured victory in the recently concluded Assembly elections.
The BJP state president informed that preparations for the swearing-in ceremony are being conducted on a grand scale across Guwahati.
He further stated that the leader of the BJP Legislative Party will officially be elected on May 10. Before that, BJP national president Jagat Prakash Nadda and several senior party leaders are expected to arrive in Guwahati on Saturday to hold discussions with party legislators.
Preparations for the oath-taking ceremony are currently underway at the Veterinary College playground in Khanapara, Guwahati, where a massive pandal is being constructed for the event.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, along with several BJP and NDA leaders, are expected to attend the swearing-in ceremony.
Meanwhile, Chief Secretary Dr Ravi Kota and Director General of Police Harmeet Singh are continuously reviewing the arrangements and security measures for the high-profile event.
The ceremony is expected to formally mark the beginning of the BJP-led government’s new term in Assam following its electoral victory.
