Documents and equipment destroyed; short-circuit suspected as cause
Jalgaon, April 27 (H.S.): A fire broke out in the store room of the Police Headquarters in Jalgaon on Monday, causing extensive damage to documents and essential materials.
According to officials, important documents, literature, and equipment required for bandobast duties were completely destroyed in the blaze. Smoke was first noticed emanating from the room, but before immediate action could be taken, the fire quickly spread and engulfed the entire store room.
Fire Brigade personnel reached the spot promptly and managed to douse the flames, preventing the fire from spreading further.
Cause Under Investigation
While the exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, officials suspect that a short-circuit may have triggered the incident. Police have initiated an investigation to determine the precise reason behind the fire.
