Gold trades lower across major cities; silver also softens amid subdued demand

New Delhi, May 4 (H.S.): Domestic bullion markets witnessed mild weakness in early trading on Monday, with gold and silver prices declining across most major centres in the country.
As a result, 24-carat gold was trading in the range of ₹1,50,920 to ₹1,52,720 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was quoted between ₹1,38,340 and ₹1,39,990 per 10 grams. Silver prices also showed a downward trend, with the metal trading at ₹2,64,900 per kilogram in the Delhi bullion market.
City-Wise Gold Rates
In Delhi, 24-carat gold was priced at ₹1,51,220 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold stood at ₹1,38,490 per 10 grams. Mumbai recorded 24-carat gold at ₹1,50,920 and 22-carat at ₹1,38,340 per 10 grams.
Ahmedabad saw retail prices of ₹1,51,020 for 24-carat and ₹1,38,390 for 22-carat gold per 10 grams. In Chennai, gold was quoted at ₹1,52,720 for 24-carat and ₹1,39,990 for 22-carat per 10 grams.
Kolkata mirrored Mumbai’s rates, with 24-carat gold at ₹1,50,920 and 22-carat at ₹1,38,340 per 10 grams. Bhopal aligned with Ahmedabad, while Lucknow, Patna, and Jaipur recorded rates similar to Delhi.
Regional Trends
Markets across Karnataka, Telangana, and Odisha also reported marginal declines. In Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Bhubaneswar, 24-carat gold was trading at ₹1,50,920 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold stood at ₹1,38,340 per 10 grams.
Market experts attribute the slight dip to subdued demand and cautious investor sentiment, with prices expected to remain range-bound in the near term.
