Cyber Police Kashmir invokes BNS provisions citing content linked to separatist leader

Jammu, April 30 (H.S.): Cyber Police Kashmir has registered an FIR against PDP leader Iltija Mufti and others over alleged circulation of separatist-linked content on social media, officials said on Thursday.
The case was initiated after a video shared on X (formerly Twitter) by Mufti, featuring slain separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani, came under the scrutiny of authorities.
According to officials, FIR No. 11 has been registered under Section 152 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which deals with acts that threaten the sovereignty, unity and integrity of India.
Investigation Underway
Officials added that unidentified individuals have also been named in the FIR for allegedly sharing and amplifying the content online.
Cyber Police Kashmir has launched a detailed investigation to examine the intent behind the post and the extent of its circulation on social media platforms.
