Emerging school-level sports talent from across Maharashtra was celebrated as Lokmat MahaGames concluded its state-level championship with a grand award ceremony held in Pune. The event brought together student athletes, educators, parents, and sports enthusiasts to recognise exceptional performances across multiple disciplines. Padma Bhushan awardee and Olympic medalist Saina Nehwal, the Brand Ambassador of Lokmat MahaGames, felicitated the winners, motivating young athletes to strive for excellence through discipline, perseverance, and consistent effort.
The scale of the competition reflected its growing significance in Maharashtra’s school sports ecosystem. Over 50,000 students from more than 2,500 schools participated in the tournament, competing across 12 diverse sports disciplines, making Lokmat MahaGames one of the most inclusive and far-reaching inter-school sporting initiatives in the state. From traditional team sports to individual competitive events, the platform offered students an opportunity to showcase talent, build confidence, and experience professional-level competition at an early stage.
